Test the Shopify Integration

A ten-minute walkthrough to confirm prices, order sending, dispatch and status updates work before you go live.

Test the Shopify Integration

Run through this after setup. Use a Fleetbase test key if you do not want test orders in your live organization.

  1. Prices. On Delivery rates, use Test a delivery address with an address your rates cover. You should see each rate's price in your store currency.
  2. Create an order. In Shopify admin, go to Orders › Create order, add products and a customer with a delivery address. Click Add shipping or delivery to add a delivery fee, then Collect payment › Mark as paid.
  3. Send it. If the order uses local delivery it is sent automatically within seconds. Otherwise choose More actions › Send to Fleetbase; the dialog confirms "Sent to Fleetbase."
  4. Check both sides. The order appears on the app's Deliveries page and in Fleet-Ops with the items, address and scheduled time.
  5. Dispatch. In the order's Fleetbase delivery block, choose a driver, click Assign, then Dispatch. Shopify marks the order fulfilled with a tracking link.
  6. Deliver. Start and complete the order in the Navigator app or the console. The order timeline shows "Out for delivery", then "Delivered".
  7. Cancel. Send a second order, then cancel it in Shopify. The Fleetbase order becomes cancelled.

For a storefront test, turn on local delivery for your location in Shopify, then check out with an address inside a zone (or, with live prices, inside a service area).

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
Prices look 100 times too large or smallCheck the rate's currency matches the store currency. Enter amounts as in the Fleetbase console.
No Fleetbase price at checkoutConfirm live prices are on, your plan has carrier-calculated shipping, and a rate covers the address. Slow first quotes fall back; the next one is cached.
Order not sent automaticallyIt must be paid (or cash on delivery) and use local delivery or a Fleetbase rate. Send it by hand otherwise.
Failed to sendRead the reason on the delivery. Most often the location needs mapping in Settings › Pickup locations.
No order blockAdd the Fleetbase delivery block from the order page's apps area.
Status updates are slowSet up the Fleetbase webhook in Settings › Fleetbase webhook; without it updates take up to 5 minutes.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling stops order sending and removes the checkout rates. Settings are kept for 48 hours, so reinstalling within that time restores them; after that, the app deletes the store's data. Orders already in Fleetbase are not changed.
