Signing In with a Provider
Sign in or sign up with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or Apple, and manage the providers linked to your Fleetbase account.
Signing In with a Provider
If your administrator has set it up, you can sign in to the console with an account you already have at Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or Apple instead of a Fleetbase password. You can link more than one, and you can still keep your password.
Signing In
On the sign-in page, click Continue with Google — or Microsoft, GitHub, or Apple — under the Or continue with divider. You are sent to the provider, and back to the console once you approve.
If two-factor authentication is enabled on your account, you are asked for your one-time code after the provider returns you. Provider sign-in never skips 2FA.
The first time you use a provider, one of three things happens:

| Automatic linking is on, the provider verified your email, and it matches your confirmed account email | The provider is linked to your account, you are signed in, and you are emailed about the new link |
| Your email already has an account but cannot be linked automatically | You are asked to sign in another way and link the provider yourself — see Linking a Provider |
Your account is only ever found through a provider you have linked. Matching email addresses alone never signs anyone in.
Signing Up
If your administrator allows new sign-ups through a provider, the same buttons appear on the sign-up page, above the Or sign up with email divider.
Choose a Provider
Click Continue with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or Apple, and approve the request.
Finish the Sign-up Form
Your name and email address are filled in for you, and no password is needed — you will sign in with your provider from then on.
If the provider confirmed your email address, the email field is locked. Otherwise you can change it, and you confirm it with a code as usual.
Create the Account
When the provider has confirmed your email address, your account starts verified and no verification code is sent.
Two things to know while you are signing up:
- If you reload the sign-up page, start again from the provider button. The sign-up is only held for the length of one visit.
- If you already have an account, clicking a provider button on the sign-up page signs you in instead of creating a second one.
An email address that already has an account is never used to create another. Sign in and link the provider instead.
Linking a Provider
Linking lets you sign in with a provider on an account you created with a password.
Open Your Profile
Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the console and select Your profile.
Find Connected Accounts
Click the Auth tab. The Connected accounts panel lists the providers you have linked under Linked, and the rest under Available to link.
Link the Provider
Click Link next to a provider and approve the request. You are returned to the Auth tab, and the provider moves to Linked.
You can link one account per provider, and a provider account that is already linked to another Fleetbase user cannot be linked to yours.
Unlinking a Provider
In Connected accounts, click Unlink next to a linked provider and confirm. You can link it again later.
You are emailed whenever a provider is linked to, or removed from, your account, so you find out if someone else does it.
Who Can Use Provider Sign-in
Provider sign-in is for team member accounts, the same accounts that can sign in to the console with a password.
- Customers sign in through the Customer Portal, not the console.
- Drivers and contacts cannot sign in to the console at all. Drivers use the Navigator app.
